Josie is a very pretty 2 year-old girl who looks like a mix of Boxer and Bloodhound with her bobtail and long Hound dog ears. Sadly, Josie’s family moved out and left her chained up in the backyard. A neighbor took her in and when it was clear her family was not coming back for her, they contacted the local shelter for help finding her a new home. Josie went into a foster home for a week or so before making the trip to Canine Lifeline to work on finding a real forever home. Josie LOVES people and greets all of her friends with that Boxer full-body wag. She can be picky about her dog friends though so would probably do best as the only dog in the home so she doesn’t have to compete with another canine for attention from her humans. Josie has had excellent crate manners since coming to us so should be able to master the house rules in her new home in short order. She walks pretty well on a leash and looks forward to exploring her new neighborhood along with her family. Josie weighs about 55 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. When she came to us, Josie had a horrible infection in one of her ears which had destroyed the ear drum. The infection has been treated and her new family should keep a close watch on it to make sure the infection doesn’t come back. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized.
