Katie is a beautiful 1 year-old Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mix spayed female who was adopted from a shelter about 6 months ago but recently returned. We don’t know what caused her to lose her home but she made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for a permanent new home. Katie is a very active young dog who gets along well with other dogs so would enjoy having a canine pal in her new home. She has been very friendly with all women that she’s met but we have seen that she can be fearful of some men. We’re not sure yet whether that’s the case with most/all men but she does warm up after awhile if tasty treats are involved. Katie has done well with crate-training in her foster home so should pick up the house rules quickly in her new home. She will need some work on obedience training as she does pull on the leash. It’s likely that no one spent much time working with her but she’s a young dog who’s eager to please so should excel in an obedience class with her new family. Katie weighs about 50 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Katie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
