Kaya is one of two 7 month-old Black Lab mix sisters who came into an overcrowded rural county dog shelter. Shortly after entering the shelter, Kaya broke with parvo but fortunately had a mild case and has made a full recovery. Once she was ready to travel, she made to the trip to Canine Lifeline along with her sister Dorie so they could work on finding wonderful new homes. Kaya is a typically sweet pup with a friendly Lab disposition and playful approach to everything. She has been working on her leash manners since coming to us and is doing pretty well with daily practice. Kaya gets along well with other dogs so would certainly enjoy having a canine buddy in her new home but might also be fine as an only dog provided her family has lost of time to spend with her. She has done well with crate-training in her foster home and will need to continue that in her adoptive home as she works on her house manners. Kaya is a sweetheart who loves everyone she meets and is going to make an outstanding companion for one very lucky person or family. Kaya weighs about 40 pounds currently but will likely be 60+ pounds once full-grown. Her adoption fee is $375. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Kaya. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure `
