KC is a very sweet and loving 9 year-old Poodle/Schnauzer mix neutered male who recently lost his home because his family could no longer care for him. This boy is understandably a little confused about the recent changes in his life but he has a positive attitude and is looking forward to making a fresh start with a new family. KC loves to eat and has enjoyed a few too many treats in his lifetime. He is a chubby pup who weighs about 34 pounds currently but should get down to 20-25 pounds to be at his ideal weight. He will need a new family who will commit to providing him with a healthy diet and lots of daily exercise to help him achieve his ideal weight so that he can enjoy life to the fullest. KC gets along very well with other dogs and does like to play with them. He would enjoy having a canine pal in his new home who is close to his age so he can play in spurts but not be overwhelmed by a young dog who wants to play constantly. KC is reported to be cat-friendly so should do fine in a home with kitties. KC walks nicely on a leash so daily walks are definitely on his wish list. He knows the sit command and likely others that we haven’t discovered yet. KC is likely to be housetrained so should be able to catch onto the house rules quickly in his new home. KC does very well at the groomer and is used to being groomed regularly so that is something his new family will have to plan on providing for him as well. His adoption fee is $150. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. KC is having a dental cleaning on March 1 so will be ready for adoption on Saturday March 2. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized.
