Keeper is a gorgeous 4.5 month-old Sheltie/Pomeranian mix who came to us from an overcrowded county dog shelter after having been surrendered there by his owner who could no longer care for him. We don’t know what circumstances caused Keeper to lose his home but perhaps he was just too much puppy for his family. Keeper is cute as the dickens but an active and spunky little guy who will need lots of training to channel that puppy enthusiasm in a positive direction. He’s enjoying life in a foster home while searching for his new family and spends his days playing with other small dogs and pups. Keeper would love a home with a playful canine buddy and a family who can let him outside midday for a potty break. He wouldn’t do well left alone for long workdays. Keeper is working on his leash manners and, with some daily practice, will soon be strutting his stuff around his new neighborhood in style. He has been working on crate-training in his foster home and does well in four hour increments. Keeper is going to make a great buddy for the person or family who has time to work with an active, enthusiastic pup. He weighs about 10 pounds currently and we expect he’ll be about 15-20 pounds once full grown. His adoption fee is $350. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Keeper. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children less than 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
