Kyah is a beautiful 1.5 year-old Yellow Lab/Terrier mix female with a scruffy look. She does shed and is not a hypoallergenic dog. Kyah was surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter by her family who could not keep her any longer. We don’t know what circumstances led to Kyah losing her home but have found her to be a very sweet girl. She has done well meeting lots of new people since her arrival here with us and has been friendly with other dogs too. Kyah keeps her crate very tidy so may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. She doesn’t seem to like to pee and poop when she’s on a leash so will do best with a yard that has a secure aboveground fence so she can take her time getting her business done. It may be that Kyah just hasn’t had much experience on a leash yet as that does seem new to her. With some daily practice in her new home, she should soon have her leash skills mastered. Kyah was a little camera shy but got braver as her photo shoot went on. She looks forward to making herself at home with her new family very soon.  Kyah was adopted from us but returned after several weeks because she proved to be too strong and active for her senior adopter. Kyah loves playing with other dogs in her foster home so would enjoy having a playful canine buddy in her new home to help her blow off some steam everyday. She loves to play ball and plays a good game of fetch–something she really enjoys. Kyah looks forward to joining a family with whom she’ll be able to live an active lifestyle with lots of fun adventures. Kyah weighs about 38 pounds and her adoption fee is $350. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Kyah. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
