Lacy is a beautiful Aussie mix female with the most kind and gentle disposition who we estimate to be somewhere in the range of 8-10 years-old. She came into an overcrowded county dog shelter with a large mammary tumor (which is visible in one of her presurgery photos) and made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she would be able to get the medical attention that she needed. Lacy had surgery to remove the tumor in late December and has recovered extremely well so is now ready to find herself a permanent new home. Biopsy of the tumor revealed that it was a grade I adenocarcinoma. Since it was such a large mass, clean margins were not able to be achieved with surgery so her new owners will need to keep an eye on that area to make sure that it doesn’t grow back. We ask that her new family keep in touch with us. Should the tumor regrow within 6 months after adoption, she can come back to us and our vet will remove it again. So far everything is looking great! We have no history on this girl’s life before she came into the shelter but she has been a real gem since arriving here with us. Lacy is very affectionate with her human friends and is always ready to share lots of kisses. After she had recovered from her surgery, Lacy visited the groomer and was perfectly behaved. Lacy gets along well with other dogs and likes her canine pals to be on the calm, mellow side. She walks perfectly on a leash and would love going around the block with her new family each day. This girl is eager to move into her new house and make herself right at home. She weighs about 33 pounds and her adoption fee is $150. Lacy’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. She has also had a dental cleaning with a few extractions since coming to us so now has a very pretty smile. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Lacy. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
