Laredo is a wonderful 2-3 year-old Sheltie/Cattledog mix neutered male with a fantastic disposition. We don’t have any history on this sweet dog as he came into a county dog shelter and from there was transferred to a neighboring humane society before making his way to Canine Lifeline. Unfortunately, Laredo tested heartworm positive at the shelter so his chances of finding a new home there were reduced to almost nil. Laredo came to us in early June and had his lifesaving heartworm treatment in June and July. He came through that with flying colors so is ready to find himself a great new home. Laredo is a very kind and gentle dog. He has loved every person that he’s met and greets everyone with a smile and a tail that tends to wag up and down rather than side to side–very cute! He’s also been fine with other dogs in his foster home so would probably do well in a home with another calm canine pal or two. Laredo walks nicely on a leash but does like to jump on people for attention. He does so very gently though. We have been working with him to discourage that. He’s a smart dog who catches on to new routines quickly. Laredo is going to make an outstanding companion for one lucky person or family. Laredo weighs about 25 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Laredo. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
Laredo’s heartworm treatment cost about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with his medical expenses, you may do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Laredo and Canine Lifeline!
