Lava is a very playful, friendly, and sociable 3 month-old Beagle/Feist mix (with the emphasis on mix!) who has been enjoying life in a foster home along with his 8 siblings. They were born on August 22 about a week after their mom Opal arrived at Canine Lifeline as a pregnant stray from a county dog shelter. Opal is a 28 pound Feist mix but we have no idea about the father of the pups. She took excellent care of her pups but they are now ready to move on and find themselves wonderful new homes of their own. Lava loves to play with other dogs so would enjoy sharing his home with a canine buddy. He will need a family who has plenty of time to spend with him as he will need to go outside every couple of hours during the day as he works on housetraining. Lava’s a great pup who’s going to make an outstanding companion for the family who has the time and energy to raise an active young pup. Lava weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces on Nov. 17 and we expect he may be about 30-35 pounds once full-grown. His adoption fee is $400. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Lava. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
