Layla is a very pretty 3 year-old Aussie/Border Collie mix female who was surrendered to a county dog shelter by her owners when they became homeless. Layla had always lived outside but is now an indoor dog with Canine Lifeline and loving it. She picked up crate-training very quickly in her foster home and keeps it spotless. There will certainly be a learning curve for her when she goes into her new home but she’s a smart girl who’s eager to please and she should get the hang of things readily. Layla loves to play with other dogs so would do well to have a canine mentor in her new home to show her the house rules. Layla is a clever girl who can get over a 4 foot fence. She hasn’t shown any desire to run away though–just seems to enjoy being able to do it! Layla walks pretty well on a leash and will make a great walking or jogging buddy. The shelter reported that she is not a fan of cats so we will be looking for a kitty-free home for her. Layla loves attention from her human friends and is very affectionate once she knows you. She weighs about 38 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Layla. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
