Loki is a very handsome 1 year-old Cattle Dog with beautiful markings and a sweet, friendly disposition. He was surrendered to a county dog shelter by his owner because he chased cats and chickens. Loki gets along great with other dogs, but will try to herd them which is true to his breed. He apparently lived with older kids before and did fine with them as well. Loki needs an active person or family who’ll give him a job to do every day. He would make an excellent trail buddy once he gains a little more experience on the leash. Loki has done well with crate-training in his foster home and should be able to pick up the house rules quickly in his new home. He would not do well left alone for long workdays and would benefit from having a big fenced yard to play in along with a canine buddy to pal around with. Loki is a very smart dog who picks up new routines quickly. He loved having his photos taken and made great eye contact with the camera. In addition to plenty of physical exercise each day, Loki needs lots of mental stimulation as well to keep him sharp and engaged. If you’re an experienced Cattle Dog person looking for your next buddy, you’ll want to meet Loki. He weighs about 28 pounds and his adoption fee is $325. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Loki. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
