Lola-ADOPTED!

Lola is a beautiful 9 month-old Boxer who was surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter by her owners who said she played too rough with their young children. She was very frightened at the shelter so made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could relax in a foster home while searching for a permanent new home. Lola is still very much of a puppy and will need a family who has time to work with her on basic obedience and canine manners. She already knows the sit and shake hands commands and also walks quite nicely on a leash. Lola can be a little head shy so we wonder whether the adults in her previous home were overly rough with her to stop her from playing with the kids. There doesn’t seem to be a mean bone in her body but Lola can be a little shy in new situations. Once she feels comfortable with someone, she lets her guard down and becomes the playful pup you’d expect from a 9 month-old dog. She’s very cuddly with her human friends and loves to give kisses. Lola gets along very well with other dogs and upon meeting the resident vet clinic kitties, was curious but respectful of them so might be fine living in a home with cats. Lola was crate-trained in her previous home and has done well in a crate in her foster home. She may need a little refresher on housetraining in a new environment but should be able to pick up the house rules quickly with some consistent, positive direction from her new family. Lola weighs about 46 pounds but is thin and working on gaining 5-10 more to be at her ideal weight. Her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Lola. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
