Lucky

Lucky is a very cute 2 year-old Hound mix spayed female with an adorable freckled face who looks like she might have some St. Bernard in her family tree. She was surrendered to a county dog shelter by her family who said they didn’t have room for her. We don’t know anything about her previous life but she is a very active, energetic young dog so perhaps they didn’t have a yard for her to run around in. Lucky generally gets along well with other dogs but if a dog reacts negatively to her, she doesn’t back down. She does like to play rough with other dogs so if there’s a canine buddy in her new home, she would do best with an active and energetic neutered male. Given her energy level, she will need a home with a yard that has a secure aboveground fence. Lucky does need some work on her leash manners so walking her with an Easy Walk Harness as she hones those skills is recommended. With a little more practice, she will be a great jogging or hiking buddy for her new family. She’s definitely got the stamina to run with her humans. Lucky has had excellent crate manners so she may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. The sending shelter told us that she would not be good with cats so we are looking for a kitty-free home for her. Lucky  weighs about 55 pounds and her adoption fee is $325. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Lucky. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
