Luke-ADOPTED!

Luke is a gorgeous 9 month-old Border Collie/Spaniel mix male who came into a county dog shelter as a stray with Bo, who looks to be his littermate. When the pups weren’t claimed, they made the trip to Canine Lifeline so they could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for their permanent homes. Luke and Bo seemed completely unfamiliar with a leash upon arrival at the shelter but they are making slow but steady progress on their leash manners in their foster home. Luke has progressed more quickly in this area and will walk along nicely with his human friends when out for a walk. It’s likely that he will be a little more reluctant to do that once he’s in his new home as it may take him awhile to feel comfortable in his new surroundings. Luke is very dog friendly so would benefit from having a canine buddy in his new home to show him the ropes. Luke does have good crate manners so should continue crate-training in his new home. Working with him on that will help him pick up the house rules in his new home with fewer mistakes. He’s a very sweet boy who just needs a kind and patient family to help boost his confidence and show him how wonderful a dog’s life can and should be. Luke weighs about 42 pounds now but it likely to be 50+ once full-grown. His adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Luke. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
