Maggie is a tiny Shih Tzu mix female who weighs all of about 7 pounds. This pint-sized cutie was surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter by her owner who had another dog and was only allowed one in her apartment. Maggie was immediately pulled from the shelter and taken straight to the groomer as she was in poor condition—very dirty and matted as seen in her pre-grooming photo. Once groomed, she stayed in a foster home until making the trip to Canine Lifeline to find a permanent new home where she will be treated like the princess that she is. Maggie’s previous foster home sent her up to us in her dinosaur pajamas which will go to her new home with her. When she was spayed, she had some retained baby teeth removed so we suspect she is in the 1-2 year-old age range. This little lady just could not be any sweeter. She is shy at first meeting new people but really just wants to be held and cuddled so once someone picks her up, she immediately starts to relax. Maggie has been fine with the other small dogs in her foster home but her top priority is finding a new home where she can be snuggled and cuddled all day long. She may need to work on housetraining in her new home and has been working on crate-training in her foster home. Maggie is not a fan of snow or cold weather so will enjoy having some winter outfits for when she has to go outside. Her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Maggie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
