Maizie is a super-friendly and outgoing 7-8 month-old Terrier/Beagle mix girl who was found as a stray n late May and taken to the local shelter. She was in extremely poor condition at that time—emaciated and loaded with parasites of all kinds. Fortunately, a shelter volunteer got her the veterinary care that she needed and Maizie rebounded. Once she was on the mend, Maizie made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for her permanent new home. This charming girl is still a diamond in the rough physically as her skin and coat are still healing from the neglect she suffered as a puppy. She feels like a million bucks though and has truly never met a stranger. Maizie makes friends quickly with people and loves all dogs. She enjoys wrestling and playing chase with her fellow foster dogs so would certainly enjoy having a playful canine buddy in her new home. Maizie has done well with crate-training in her foster home so should be able to pick up the house rules quickly in her new home. Leash walking has been a totally new experience for Maizie and she likes to charge ahead to explore. As she works on her leash manners, walking her on a harness will help keep her under control. Maizie is very food-motivated so should be easy to train. It’s going to be so much fun for her new family to watch her blossom in her new home and we know that Maizie is going to be extremely grateful for the chance to live a pampered life. There’s nothing more gratifying than helping a dog live a true rags to riches story! Maizie weighs about 30 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Maizie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under the age of 7 years. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
