Mandy

You’re not going to find a sweeter dog than Mandy, our wonderful 8 year-old Border Collie/Spaniel mix female. In spite of the fact that this girl surely had a very rough life before ending up at a county dog shelter, she absolutely loves people and is the most loyal and devoted dog. Once she makes friends with someone, it’s for life. Not only has this dog had many litters of pups over the years, she also tested positive for heartworms at the shelter. Her age and her heartworm status would have almost certainly led to euthanasia at many county dog shelters but this girl won the hearts of the shelter staff and volunteers so they set out to find a rescue for this sweet dog that they affectionately called “Old Momma”.  Mandy came to us in March very thin and in need of lots of TLC. After two months of foster care, she was ready to go through heartworm treatment so had her lifesaving treatment in May. Fortunately, Mandy came through that with no complications and is now ready to find herself the home  and family that she’s always dreamed of. If you’ve got a soft spot for seniors, please take a look at Mandy. She has excellent crate manners so should be able to pick up the housetraining rules in her new home without too much trouble. Mandy gets along well with other dogs but might really enjoy a home of her very own where she can be pampered all day long to her heart’s content. She walks beautifully on a leash and will be a great companion for someone who wants a dog who doesn’t need a huge amount of exercise but can still be a walking buddy around the neighborhood. Mandy weighs about 40 pounds and her adoption fee is $150. She’s spayed, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Now that Mandy has completed heartworm treatment she will have a much needed dental cleaning on July 2 so will go to her new home with a beautiful pearly white smile. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Mandy. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.

Mandy’s heartworm treatment cost about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with her care, please do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Mandy and Canine Lifeline!
