Marty is a very charming 4 year-old Basset Hound mix male. Although he showed his serious side to the camera, this fun-loving guy is a real clown and, when no cameras are around, has a big smile on his face for everyone. Marty came into an overcrowded county dog shelter as a stray and when he wasn’t claimed, made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he could take his time finding the perfect new home. Marty absolutely loves playing with other dogs so would really enjoy a home with another canine pal or two. He loves picking up a toy and playing keep-a-way or tug of war with his fellow foster dogs. Marty has excellent crate manners and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. He will need some work on the leash as he does like to charge ahead on walks but with some practice will soon be walking like a pro. Marty has never met a stranger and is sure to have a big fan club in his new neighborhood. He weighs about 38 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Marty. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
