Masie-ADOPTED!

Masie is a 9 month-old Great Dane who was surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter by her owner. We don’t know what caused her to lose her home but the shelter asked us for help with her since she was stressed in the shelter environment. Masie made the trip to Canine Lifeline and is now enjoying life in a foster home while she waits for a permanent new home. Masie is a sweet and loving dog who gets along great with other dogs of all sizes. She came to us very thin and we are working on putting weight on her with four feedings per day. Masie is going to need work on housetraining when adopted and needs a family who can be around with her much of the time. She needs to go outside about 30 minutes to an hour after each meal or she will have an accident. Masie loves attention from her human friends and needs to understand that all good things come to those who keep four paws on the floor. For a big kid, she walks pretty well on a leash and will only improve with more practice in her new home. We’d love to find a home for her with someone with experience with Danes. She currently weighs about 70 pounds but is still growing. Her adoption fee is $350. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Since coming to Canine Lifeline, Masie has had a gastropexy procedure in which the stomach is tacked to the abdominal wall to prevent bloat. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Masie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
