This gorgeous 2 year-old Catahoula Leopard dog mix with beautiful markings and one sparkling blue eye is Matilda. She was an owner surrender at an overcrowded county dog shelter. While we don’t know why Matilda lost her home, her owner did provide lots of information about her life with them. Matilda lived on a farm with horses, cats, and chickens. She got along well with the cats but would try to play with them on occasion. If she would play too rough, she would get a smack in the nose from the cat and she would know to stop. She tried to play with the chickens too and accidently killed one so perhaps that is why she lost her home. Matilda has been great with other dogs since coming to us and would enjoy having a canine buddy to pal around with in her new home. She is a very smart dog who knows many commands and, in her previous home, had learned to recognize her different toys by name. Matilda walks well on a leash and would love to go on lots of walks, hikes, or jogs with her new family. She has excellent crate manners so should be able to pick up the house rules quickly in her new home. She was housetrained in her previous home. Matilda is an active dog who wouldn’t enjoy being left alone for long workdays. An active family who is able to include her in many daily activities would be ideal for her. She’s very friendly with people and is going to make an outstanding, loyal companion for one lucky person or family. Matilda weighs about 47 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Matilda.
