This gorgeous 9 month-old pup looks like the perfect mix of Mountain Cur and Cattle Dog with her beautiful brindle coat, speckled legs, and short tail. She came into an overcrowded county dog shelter as a stray so we have no history on her but have found her to be a real sweetheart. Melba gets along great with other dogs and has also been sweet with all people she’s met since coming to us. She can be a little shy and submissive in new situations but it doesn’t take her long to warm up once she knows someone wants to be her friend. Melba has done well with crate-training in her foster home and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. She walks very nicely on a leash for a youngster and is really going to enjoy exploring her new neighborhood along with her family. She’s likely to get lots of compliments on her beautiful coat and markings when she’s out for a walk. Melba was a little bit camera-shy and we think she’s even more beautiful when you meet her in person. Melba weighs about 35 pounds and her adoption fee is $375. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Melba. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
