Meet Merry, a sweet and loving 1.5 year-old Jack Russell/Cattledog mix female, who was an owner surrender at an overcrowded county dog shelter. We don’t know what her previous living arrangements were like but she arrived at the shelter a little underweight with her coat and skin in poor condition so she likely hadn’t had the best of care in her young life. From the shelter, Merry came to Canine Lifeline so she could gets lot of TLC and a great diet to help her regain her beautiful coat. We think Merry looks like a mini-Cattledog but she definitely has the Jack Russell spring in her step. When outdoors in her foster home, she stands on the deck trying to look into the kitchen window and jumps up repeatedly like a jack-in-the-box to get a better look. Pretty cute! Merry gets along well with other dogs but would probably be fine as the only dog in the home. She can be a little shy meeting new people but once she knows someone, you’ve got a friend for life. Merry is working on crate-training in her foster home and doing well with that. With some patient and consistent positive reinforcement training, Merry should settle readily into her new routine. Merry weighs about 22 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Merry. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age.
