Missy-PENDING

If you’re looking for a super nice dog who’s over the crazy puppy years, you will want to meet our Missy. This beautiful 8 year-old Newfie/Retriever mix spayed female was adopted from a shelter 7 years ago but recently picked up as a stray. Her microchip didn’t lead to a current owner so she was put up for adoption at the shelter. The shelter contacted us for help with this girl and we gladly agreed to take her on. Missy received a complete senior panel blood work up when she arrived here with us and everything was normal. We suspected she might have a thyroid issue as she is about 20 pounds overweight but that was also normal. Apparently, she has just enjoyed too many treats over the years! Missy is one of the most kind and gentle dogs you’ll ever meet! She is very compliant and willing to go along with whatever you’d like her to do. She posed beautifully for her photos and is eager to show you that she knows how to sit on command. Missy has excellent crate manners and is very likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee that. Missy weighs about 80 pounds currently but needs to get down to about 60-65 to be at a healthy weight. She needs a family who can commit to keeping her on a healthy diet and exercise routine. Her adoption fee is $150. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Missy. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
