Monty is a friendly and outgoing 2 year-old Lab mix male who’s on the smaller side at only about 46 pounds. He came into a rural county dog shelter as a stray so we have no history on his previous life. Monty may have been left to fend for himself for awhile but he’s now learning about indoor life in his foster home and doing well with both crate-training and housetraining there. He would love to have a family who is home much of the time so he can enjoy their company and not be left alone for long workdays. Monty gets along well with other dogs so having another canine pal or two in his new home will help him adjust to his new surroundings. He’s a friendly, eager to please guy who would love to enroll in an obedience class with his new family. He will need some work on the leash but will soon realize how much fun it is to go for walks and should soon be walking like a pro. His adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Monty. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
