Moochy is a 9 month-old Pug/Doxie mix neutered male who is just about as cute as they come with his charming underbite and short little legs. Hard to believe that this delightful little guy was an unclaimed stray at an overcrowded county dog shelter but that was indeed his predicament. Fortunately the shelter brought him to our attention knowing how much we LOVE and appreciate underbite pups so he made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he could relax in a foster home while searching for the perfect new home. Moochy was a little shy and unsure of things when he first arrived with us but he has really come out of his shell in his foster home and now follows his foster mom around like a shadow. He’s happy to be picked up and snuggled and likes to shower his human buddies with kisses. We thought that Moochy might be camera shy but we were amazed how focused he was during his photo session. Moochy was enamored with the camera and also the yummy treats that we enticed him with and, as a result, he posed like a pro. This little guy definitely enjoys mealtime and is very food-motivated so working with him on obedience training should be a rewarding experience. Moochy is working on crate-training and housetraining in his foster home and with some patience and positive direction on the part of his new family should be able to master the house rules quickly in his new home. Moochy gets along well with other dogs so would probably enjoy having a canine pal in his new home to show him the ropes. He weighs about 12 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Moochy. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs.
