Nestle and his mother Natasha came to us from a local county dog shelter. We were told that they had lived their entire lives at the end of a chain. Nestle is about 2 years-old and looks like a Lab/Husky mix with one sparkling blue eye. Given the miserable life that he led until arriving at the shelter, it’s not surprising that he tested positive for heartworms. Nestle is getting the lifesaving treatment he needs with us. He has started his treatment and is now in a foster home under cage rest while he recuperates. Nestle should be ready for adoption in late September. Nestle is a very shy dog who craves human companionship. He melts right into you when given attention and a hug. Nestle gets along well with other dogs too but will need work on the leash as that is not something he was used to in his previous life. Nestle weighs about 45 pounds but is thin and working on gaining 5-10 pounds to reach his ideal weight. His adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Nestle. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.

Nestle’s heartworm treatment cost about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with his care so that we may save another dog in the future, please do so on our website at or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Nestle and Canine Lifeline!
