Lab lovers are going to be crazy about Nox! This handsome and very spunky 10 month-old Black lab mix found himself homeless at an overcrowded rural county dog shelter. We don’t know what circumstances caused him to end up at the shelter but he may have just been too much puppy for his previous owner. Nox is a very friendly and outgoing dog who has never met a stranger. He tries to play with every dog he meets but can be a rough player so if there’s another dog in his new home, it has to be one who can match his style of play. Nox has had very little obedience training to date and he will jump up on people for attention. He is very food-motivated though and is learning that great things come to dogs who keep all four paws on the ground. Nox will need work on his leash manners as that is something new for him. He would benefit from having a yard with a secure aboveground fence so he can chase a ball and blow off some steam before working on his obedience skills. Nox has done well with crate training in his foster home so should be able to pick up the house rules quickly with some patient positive direction on the part of his new family. He would not do well left alone for long workdays so needs a person or family who has plenty of time and energy to work with an active young dog. We have no doubt that Nox is going to mature into an outstanding companion. He just needs some direction and lots of exercise to get him there! Nox weighs about 50 pounds and his adoption fee is $325. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Nox. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
