Nugget is an adorable 5 year old Corgi mix who found herself homeless at a rural county dog shelter and made the trip Canine Lifeline so she would be able to find a wonderful new home. Unfortunately, once Nugget arrived and made a trip to the vet it was found that she was heartworm positive so those plans for a new home had to be put on hold. Nugget has now been through her heartworm treatment and after two months of cage rest is ready to begin the search for her forever home. During her recuperation, Nugget has been in foster care and has been an absolute delight in her foster home. She gently interacts with her canine and feline foster siblings. She enjoys the occasional toy but mostly loves “ her people.” Nugget is affectionate and obedient, walking well on a leash. She is calm and, for the most part, quiet, especially for a Corgi. She is quickly catching on to the house-training routine in her foster home. This exceptional girl is waiting for her well-deserved, loving forever home.

Nugget weighs about 20 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Nugget. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children less than 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.

Nugget’s heartworm treatment cost about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with her medical expenses so that we may help another heartworm positive dog in need, you may do so on our website at or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Nugget and Canine Lifeline!
