Olive is a beautiful but shy 3 year-old Black Lab mix who was sad to find herself homeless at a rural county dog shelter. We don’t have any history on her previous life but it was apparent when we started taking her photos upon arrival that she had some training as she immediately sat for a treat. We’ve found that she also knows shake hands (one paw and then the other) and lie down. Olive is reserved when she first meets new people but comes out of her shell quickly with a tasty treat. She seems a little overwhelmed when she’s around other dogs so might enjoy having her humans all to herself. Once she bonds with someone, Olive is a friend for life. She has excellent crate manners and is likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. She is quite strong on a leash so would benefit from an EZ Walk harness as she gains more experience in that area. Olive weighs about 49 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Since coming to Canine Lifeline, she has had a dental cleaning and now flashes a pearly white smile. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Olive. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
