Herding dog fans will love Popeye! This handsome, bright-eyed, and alert 9 month-old Cattledog/Border Collie mix neutered male was an owner surrender at an overcrowded county dog shelter due to a change in the owner’s lifestyle. Not sure what that involved but apparently his owner no longer had the time or space for him so Popeye began his search for a new family at the shelter and then moved to Canine Lifeline so that he could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for that new family. Popeye loves to play with other dogs so would do best in a home with an active young dog to pal around with. He’s got lots of energy and likes to stay busy. Popeye does settle down nicely for a nap in his crate after playtime is over but wouldn’t be happy left alone for long workdays. He would enjoy doggie daycare and is eager to enroll in an obedience class with his new family to learn lots of new things. Popeye will make an outstanding walking, jogging, or hiking buddy and looks forward to lots of fun adventures in his new home. Popeye weighs about 25-30 and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Popeye. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs.
