This beautiful pup is Rachel, a 7-8 month-old Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mix female who is as sweet as she can be. Rachel came into a rural county dog shelter as a stray in poor condition so came to Canine Lifeline to get some TLC before starting her search for a new home. She’s now doing very well and gaining some confidence around people and other dogs. Rachel can still be a little timid in new situations so will need a kind and patient family who will let her adjust to her new environment on her own terms. She loves playing with other dogs now so a home with another playful canine companion to help show her ropes would be ideal for her. Rachel has been crate-trained in her foster home and has done very well with that. That should be continued in her new home and she will likely pick up the housetraining routine in her new home readily. She would benefit from an obedience class with her new family so she can bond with them and learn canine good citizen skills at the same time. Rachel currently weighs about 35 pounds but we expect she’ll be 50-60 pounds when full-grown. Her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Rachel. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
