Riley is a 1 year-old Shepherd mix male with the most striking sky-blue eyes suggesting that there might be some Husky or Aussie in his family tree. He was adopted from a shelter as a puppy but recently returned to them because his family was having a baby and they no longer wanted him. The shelter told us that Riley was very shy as a puppy and is still very shy. We have found that to be the case since he’s been with us. Riley is very reluctant to trust new people. There’s not a mean bone in his body but it’s going to take a very kind and patient person or family to give Riley the time he’s going to need to adjust to his new home. Riley does well with other dogs so we are looking for a home for him where there is a calm and well-adjusted dog in the home who can show Riley the ropes. He will also need a secure fixed fenced yard to keep him safe at home. Riley is crate-trained and likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. He weighs about 48 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Riley. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
