Ringo is a very handsome and sociable 7 year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix neutered male who was surrendered to an overcrowded rural county dog shelter along with another dog (Pip AKA Baby) by his owner who could no longer take care of them. From the shelter, both dogs made the trip to Canine Lifeline so they could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for permanent new homes. According to his foster mom, Ringo has been the perfect house guest. He seems to be housetrained, walks well on a leash, and gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home who are both about 48 pounds as well as his foster mom’s kitties. He has been friendly with every person he’s met too. Ringo is a quiet dog who loves to be with his person, although he does bark when someone comes to the door. His foster mom has observed that Ringo is very nervous during storms and heavy rain and especially likes to be close to people during those times. This is something his previous owner noted as well. Ringo has been very easy to bathe and is a good eater. He does fine in a crate but prefers the couch or the bed so would love a new home where that would be allowed. Ringo rides well in the car in a crate and hasn’t gotten car sick. He and Pip, the other dog he was surrendered with, share a foster home and have done fine together but don’t need to be adopted as a pair. Ringo can be a bit of an escape artist and likes to try to dig under a fence which both his foster mom and previous owner noted. He would love to have a home with someone who is around much of the time to dote on him and give him lots of attention. Ringo weighs about 22 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized.
