Roscoe-ADOPTED!

Roscoe is a very handsome 1-2 year-old Flat-coated Retriever mix male who was found as a stray and taken to the local county dog shelter. When he wasn’t claimed there, he made the trip to Canine Lifeline to work on finding himself a great new home. Unfortunately, upon arrival here, a visit to our vet revealed that Roscoe was heartworm positive so his plans to find his forever home were put on hold as he went through lifesaving treatment. Roscoe did very well through treatment and the two months of crate rest that go along with the recuperation period. He is now ready to get those plans for a new home back on track. Roscoe is a very friendly guy—both with other dogs and people—but is very strong on a leash. Now that he’s going to be able to start running around more and blow off some steam, he should be able to work on his leash manners with some daily practice in his new home. Walking him with an Easy Walk Harness is recommended as he develops his leash skills. Roscoe would love having a yard with a secure aboveground fence so he could play and explore to his heart’s content. He would enjoy having a canine buddy in his new home to help show him the ropes too. The good-looking boy is still a diamond in the rough at this point but now that his heartworm treatment is behind him, he can start focusing on becoming the best canine good citizen he can be in his new home. Roscoe weighs about 55-60 pounds and his adoption fee is $325. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Roscoe. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Roscoe’s heartworm treatment cost about $750 so if you’d like to make a donation to help with his medical expenses, you may make an online donation on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or send a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Roscoe and Canine Lifeline!
