Rucker

This handsome young dog with the beautiful blue eyes is Rucker, a 1.5 year-old Husky/Lab mix male who loves to have fun. He is one very playful pup who has never met a stranger and makes fast friends with everyone he meets, both canine and human. We don’t have any history on Rucker as he came to us from an overcrowded county dog shelter but have found him to have an outstanding disposition. Rucker loves toys of all kinds and would have fun with an overflowing toy box in his new home. He enjoys playing with other dogs but acts like a big clumsy pup so any canine companion would have to enjoy a rowdy style of play. Rucker has been working on his leash manners since he’s been with us and walks much better with a harness so we would send one home with his adopters. He’s done well with crate-training in his foster home so we expect he would be able to pick up the house rules quickly in his new home. Rucker would benefit from having a big yard with a secure aboveground fence so he could play safely to his heart’s content. If you’ve got the time, energy, and resources to work with a big overgrown puppy, Rucker might just be your next best friend! Rucker was adopted from us but returned after two weeks because he proved to be too much for his first-time owner. Rucker can be a pushy puppy and very mouthy when he wants something so will need lots of exercise and training to keep him on the right track. Rucker wouldn’t do well left alone for long workdays and is looking for a home with someone who has another dog for him to blow off some steam with each day too. Rucker weighs about 62 pounds and his adoption fee is $350. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Rucker. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
