Ryleigh is a very kind and gentle 7 year-old Lab mix who came into a shelter as a stray. It looks like she had been neglected for some time as her coat was in poor condition and she was loaded with fleas. She is now flea-free and on the mend so her coat is becoming very soft and shiny again. While we don’t have any history on Ryleigh, since coming to Canine Lifeline to find a new home, we have found her to be a super-sweet dog who is very well-mannered. She loves attention from people and is much more of a people dog than she is a dog who wants to be around other dogs. She seems to do fine with calm, well-mannered dogs but gets irritated with lively dogs who want to play with her or get too pushy. In her foster home, Ryleigh has excellent crate manners and is around other dogs. She is likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Ryleigh was adopted as an only dog but returned to us after she exhibited separation anxiety in her new home. She managed to break out of her crate in her adoptive home so will need to have a very sturdy crate. She would be happiest with a family who is able to spend a lot of time with her so her alone time is minimal. She walks beautifully on a leash and when you stop, she leans into you for reassurance. Ryleigh is going to make an outstanding companion for someone who wants a very devoted companion. She weighs about 43 pounds currently but will need to gain a few more to be at her ideal weight. Her adoption fee is $150. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Since coming to Canine Lifeline, Ryleigh has had a dental cleaning. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized.
