Sadie is an elegant 3 year-old Border Collie mix female who is as sweet as she is gorgeous. She was surrendered by her owner to a rescuer in KY along with her eight 7 week-old pups. In her previous home, she was allowed to run loose on 8 acres but would go over to the neighbor’s and chase their horses. Her owner refused to confine her so when the neighbor said he was going to shoot her the next time she was on his property, her owner decided to let her go to a rescue. From KY, Sadie and her pups made the trip to Canine Lifeline so they could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for permanent new homes. Sadie has been so quiet and well-mannered since she’s been with us that it’s hard to imagine her chasing anyone or anything. She has gotten along well with all other dogs that she’s met since coming to us but hasn’t been interested in playing with any of them yet. We think she’s still resting from having raised all those pups and enjoying some peace and quiet. Sadie has excellent crate manners so should be able to pick up the house rules quickly in her new home. She walks beautifully on a leash and likes to stick very close to her handler. Sadie was perfect for her bath and brushing and has enjoyed receiving lots of attention from her human friends. Sadie is big for a Border Collie so might have something like Great Pyrenees in the mix. She weighs about 64 pounds currently but is very thin and needs to gain about 10-15 pounds to be at her ideal weight. Her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Sadie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
