Sam is a true gentleman and an absolute gem. This 11 month-old Lab mix male was found as a stray and taken to the county dog shelter. When he wasn’t claimed there, he made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he could relax and enjoy life in a foster home while searching for a new family to love. While we don’t have any history on this sweet dog, we have been very impressed with his calm, gentle demeanor—he’s much more mellow and laid-back than you would expect for a pup his age. Sam has also had some training in the past as he will sit for a treat which he takes very gently. He also shakes hands with both paws and knows the down command too. Sam gets along well with dogs and loves to play and wrestle with others. If a dog doesn’t want to play with him, he’s cool with that too and is content to enjoy the other dog’s quiet companionship. Sam likes toys of all kind and it’s fun to see this big pup throw squeaky toys around in play. He has excellent crate manners and is likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. For a large young dog, Sam walks very nicely on a leash. We’re sure if you meet this boy, you’re going to be as favorably impressed by him as we are. He makes friends wherever he goes and has very quickly become a volunteer favorite. Sam weighs about 65 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Sam. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under the age of 7 years. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
