Sammie-PENDING

Sammie is a lovely 2 year-old girl who looks like she might be a mix of Border Collie and Great Pyrenees although at 46 pounds, she’s definitely on the smaller side. She has a beautiful thick coat and a sweet smile. Sammie was an owner surrender at an overcrowded county dog shelter by her family who could no longer care for her. She made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she would have more time to find the perfect new home. Sammie is very friendly with people and gets along well with other dogs although she does seem to prefer her canine companions on the calm side. She would do best with a calm neutered male canine pal if there would be another dog in her home. Sammie has had excellent crate manners so should be able to pick up the housetraining routine quickly in her new home. She is very strong on a leash and is definitely going to need work in that area. Walking her with an EasyWalk Harness will help as she works on her leash manners. Sammie was very focused on the ducks and geese in the pond at the vet clinic so seems to have some of the Border Collie drive to chase/herd. Although there are no cats in her foster home, we think that Sammie would do best in a kitty-free environment. She also would do best in a home with a secure aboveground fenced yard since she does like to chase critters. Her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Sammie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
