Sampson-PENDING

If you love Labs, you’re going to be head over heels for Sampson. This wonderful 2 year-old Black Lab had the misfortune of not only finding himself homeless at an overcrowded county rural dog shelter but testing positive for heartworms as well. He was scheduled to go to another rescue but they backed out when they found out he was heartworm positive. The shelter immediately contacted us about him since we will always try to save a heartworm positive dog whenever we can. Sampson made the trip to Canine Lifeline and went through life-saving heartworm treatment in May. He came through the treatment with no complications and is now ready to find himself a permanent new home. Sampson is a great dog who has had some training as he will sit for a treat and also walks quite well on a leash for a big guy. He can catch treats or tennis balls on the fly like a pro too! He has excellent crate manners and is likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Sampson gets along well with other dogs so would enjoy a home with a canine companion or two. He might also be fine as the only dog in the home as long as his family has plenty of time to spend with him. Sampson is eager to make up for lost time and begin the next and best chapter of his life with his new family. Sampson weighs about 61 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Sampson. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.

Sampson’s heartworm treatment cost about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with his care, please do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Sampson and Canine Lifeline!
