Savannah-ADOPTED!

Savannah is one of three 5 month-old Cattle Dog/Aussie mix sisters who came to Canine Lifeline so they could find wonderful new homes. Their owner reached out to the local shelter as his dog had several unwanted litters and he couldn’t find homes for them. The shelter contacted us for help and we agreed to place the pups AND spay/neuter his dogs to avoid adding more dogs to the overpopulation problem—a win/win situation for everyone. The pups made the trip to Canine Lifeline to be able to relax in a foster home while searching for permanent new homes. These beauties are as kind and gentle as they come but are a little shy in new situations. They were living on a farm and were kept outdoors most of the time. They lived with other dogs and cats and seem to get along with everyone. Savannah makes friends quickly–as soon as she knows someone wants to make friends with her, she starts to relax. Savannah has done well with crate-training in her foster home so we expect that she should pick up the house rules fairly quickly in her new home but will need a kind and patient family who has the time to get her outside on a regular basis during the day as she works on her house manners. Having lived in a rural area, she would be most comfortable in a home in a quiet neighborhood as the sights and sounds of a dense, busy urban environment would be very scary for her. A yard with a secure aboveground fence would also be best for Savannah. She would enjoy having a calm, confident canine buddy in her new home who can show her the ropes. Walking on a leash was a completely new experience for Savannah but she’s starting to understand what that’s all about. With lots of practice in her new home, she should soon be looking forward to her daily walks. Puppies are lots of fun but also lots of work so please make sure you have the time and energy to devote to a pup before submitting an application. Savannah weighed 25 pounds when she was spayed on May 19 and we expect she’ll be in the 40-50 pound range once she’s full-grown. Her adoption fee is $350. She’s spayed, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Savannah. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children less than 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
