Scooter-ADOPTED!

Scooter is a super-sweet 5-6 year-old Shih Tzu mix who was surrendered to a shelter by his owner who was having health issues and was no longer able to care for him. He had a recent grooming before coming into the shelter and ultimately to us to find a new home so currently has a short coat. Scooter is a typically sweet representative of his breed—loves people, cuddling on laps, and soaking up lots of love and attention. His adorable underbite and crooked smile will have you hooked the moment you meet him! He has gotten along very well with other dogs of all sizes that he’s met since coming to us but spends his days hanging out with his small adoptable buddies Opie and Fergus. They enjoy watching the crazy puppies playing in their foster home but aren’t in the mood to join in. Scooter loves to go for a walk and would enjoy balancing daily walks around the block in his new neighborhood with plenty of snuggle time. Scooter has done well in his crate in his foster home so may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. He can be a little vocal if he doesn’t get what he wants—which is usually to be around his human friends—so might not be a good choice for condo, apartment, or townhouse living if he were to be left alone. Scooter weighs about 18 pounds and his adoption fee is $325. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Scooter. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
