Sidney is a very friendly and outgoing 1 year-old Black Lab/Basset mix male who’s a great size at only about 40 pounds. He came into a rural county dog shelter as a stray so we have no history on his previous life. As sweet and friendly as he is, Sidney has had little to no training so it’s likely that his previous family didn’t spend any time working with him. He will need work on his leash manners and using an EZ Walk harness with help make walks enjoyable as he works on this. With some practice and consistent training, Sidney is going to make a great walking, jogging, or hiking buddy. He gets along great with other dogs so would do best with another active young dog and a secure fenced yard in his new home so he can channel all of that puppy energy in a positive direction. Sidney has excellent crate manners so may be housetrained although we can’t guarantee it. If you’ve got the time and energy to work with an active and energetic young dog, Sidney won’t disappoint you and will become a treasured companion for years to come. Sidney weighs about 40 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Sidney. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
