If you love Cattledogs, Simon is eager to meet you! This gorgeous 3 year-old with a stumpy tail came into an overcrowded county dog shelter as a stray and when he wasn’t claimed, made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he would have plenty of time to find the perfect new home. While we don’t have any history on his pre-shelter life, we have found Simon to be a delightful dog since arriving here with us. He is definitely a herder so someone who is familiar with this breed would be the best match for him. Simon is very playful with other dogs and with people too. He can be a little mouthy though when playing so will need some redirection when he does that. Simon has excellent crate manners and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Although he settles down nicely after play/exercise time and will snuggle with his human buddies, Simon is most definitely not a couch potato so needs an active family who wants a dog that they can walk, hike, or jog with daily. He likes to stay busy so being alone during long workdays will not work for Simon. He’s an outstanding Cattledog who will make a fabulous companion for the right family. Simon weighs about 38 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Simon. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
