Skip is a very kind and gentle 1 year-old Jack Russell Terrier/Doxie mix boy who came into an overcrowded county dog shelter as a stray. He was very underweight and, when he wasn’t claimed, he made the trip to Canine Lifeline to get lots of TLC in a foster home while he searched for a permanent new home. Skip has been the perfect guest in his foster home. He is quiet (don’t think we’ve heard him bark yet!), excellent in his crate, and likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Skip was quite shy with other dogs when he first arrived but now that he is feeling better and has put on a little weight, he is starting to play chase and wrestle with his fellow foster dogs. Skip loves curling up for a nap on his blanket after playtime is over and always looks forward to mealtime. He’s still on the thin side and, at about 14 pounds, needs to gain a few more pounds to be at his ideal weight. We can’t wait to see this boy enjoying life in his permanent new home. He deserves the best! His adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Skip. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
