Sophie-PENDING

Sophie is a fun-loving 2 year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix female who found herself homeless at an overcrowded rural county dog shelter and made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could find a wonderful new family to love. Unfortunately, Sophie’s plans for a new home had to be put on hold in early May as she tested positive for heartworms. Sophie has been through lifesaving treatment and done very well with that so is now ready to get those plans back on track. This is one very friendly, outgoing dog. She makes friends quickly with all people that she meets and has been great with other dogs too since coming to us. Sophie has been on crate-rest for the last couple of months as she recovered from her heartworm treatment but is now ready to stretch her legs a little more and start having some fun. She’s eager to explore her new neighborhood and enjoy daily walks. Sophie was likely an outside dog before coming to Canine Lifeline so she will need some positive, consistent direction on the part of new family to reinforce the house rules in her new home. Sophie is very eager to please though and is going to love learning lots of new things. Whoever adopts this girl is going to have the most grateful, devoted canine buddy for life. Sophie weighs about 55 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Sophie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children less than 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.

Sophie’s heartworm treatment cost about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with her medical expenses so that we may help another dog in need, you may do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Sophie and Canine Lifeline!
