Starla is an adorable but very camera-shy 1 year-old Doxie/Beagle mix female. She came into a rural county dog shelter as a stray and was very shy and frightened there. When she wasn’t claimed, she made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could relax in a foster home while searching for the perfect new home. Starla is about as cute as they come but very submissive when meeting new people. When she first arrived here with us, we found that a leash was a completely new experience for her. She would flatten out and belly crawl a little but would eventually pick up the pace a bit when yummy treats were the reward. Starla is going to be shy and fearful when she goes to a new home so we do want to place her where she’ll have a canine buddy who can help boost her confidence and show her the ropes. She will also need a home that has a yard with a secure aboveground fence to keep her safe. We look forward to seeing Starla have the opportunity to blossom in her new home as a treasured family member. Starla weighs about 25 pounds and her adoption fee is $325. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Starla. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
