Surrey

Surrey is a very friendly and outgoing 3 year-old girl who looks like a mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Hound. She found herself homeless at a rural county dog shelter and made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she would have more time to find herself a great new home. Upon arrival here with us, Surrey visited the vet where it was found that she had a hematoma on one ear as a result of an untreated ear infection. She had surgery to repair the hematoma and also had meds to fight the ear infection. She also tested positive for heartworms and had to go through lifesaving treatment with us. Surrey did very well with her treatment including 2 months of crate rest and is now ready to get her life back on track and find herself a great new home. This pretty girl has never met a stranger—all people and dogs too are her friends. She likes to hold her leash in her mouth when she goes for a walk but we’re trying to convince her that it’s better to let that go and enjoy the scents and smells around her. on her walks This is still a work in progress. Surrey has excellent crate manners and is likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Now that her health issues have been addressed and she’s feeling so much better, Surrey is ready to put the past behind her and focus on finding herself a wonderful new family. She deserves to never be neglected again and enjoy many years of health and happiness from hear on out. Surrey weighs about 57 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized.
