If you’re looking for a little dog who’s got the spunk and stamina to keep up with the big dogs, say hello to Toodles! This pint-sized 1.5 year-old Doxie/Chihuahua mix female is like the Energizer Bunny—it takes a lot to tire her out. Hard to believe that this little lady came into an overcrowded county dog shelter as a stray but that was indeed her plight. From the shelter, she made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for her permanent new home. One of the first things you notice about Toodles is how much she loves toys. We don’t think she’s met a toy she doesn’t like. Put a box full of toys in front of her and she could keep herself entertained for hours. Toodles gets along well with other dogs but isn’t great about sharing her toys with her canine buddies. She would likely do fine as the only dog in her new home provided her family would have plenty of time to spend with her. Toodles has been working on crate-training and housetraining in her foster home and will need to continue both in her adoptive home. Now that spring weather is here, Toodles should be able to pick up the house rules with some patient and consistent positive reinforcement training. Toodles would love a walk around her new neighborhood everyday followed by some snuggle time with her family. She will sit for a treat and is eager to learn lots more. Toodles just can’t wait to start having fun in her new home! Toodles weighs about 9 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Toodles. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age.
