Tory-ADOPTED!

Your heart really goes out to Tory. This very shy but loving 2-3 year-old Black Lab female was turned into a rural county dog shelter along with her 3 one year-old pups. From this high-kill rural pound, they were transferred to a neighboring county pound where shelter volunteers work tirelessly to find rescue for their dogs. We were notified about Tory’s plight and agreed to take her as well as her three pups. It’s likely that she lived in someone’s backyard along with her pups as everything seems to be new to these dogs. Tory had no idea what a leash was all about and the camera was very scary for her. She really wants to be loved and seems very willing to please. Tory is going to need a kind and patient family who will give her the time she needs to get used to her new environment. She does very well with other dogs so would likely be more confident and comfortable in a new home where she would have a companion dog to show her the ropes. A secure aboveground fenced yard would also be ideal for her. Tory has done well with crate-training in her foster home and gets very excited for mealtime each day. She’s sure to blossom in her new home once she understands how wonderful a dog’s life can and should be. Tory weighs about 58 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Tory. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
